Overview

Gladiotron is a twin stick shooter developed by an independent studio featuring multiple characters, weapons, enemies and multiplayer capabilties.

The first part of my work was in building various enemy AI behaviours. I took descriptions of what different enemies should do, and built their behaviours in engine using those concepts as a reference.

The second field I was involved in was the narrative side where I was contracted to take a handful of scenes that would occur in the first Act of the game and design corresponding scenes based on short descrptions that were provided to me. I was in charge of writing the dialogue, the flow, any actions or events and other elements.

I also had to write barks and other lower impact dialogue as part of this duty for each of the characters as they traversed through various areas.

  • Build flexible enemy AI that could be drag and dropped into an area and work without needing additional mandatory parameters.
  • Design cutscenes for high value moments, such as weapon upgrades and character introductions.
